The only remaining outside number is "Tomorrow Belongs to Me", a folk song rendered spontaneously by patrons at an open-air cafe in one of the film's most chilling scenes. Director Bob Fosse knew how to film this movie, and that's one of his greatest shots in the film. Determined to direct the film, Fosse urged Feuer to hire him.

Cabaret did for Liza Minnelli pretty well what The Wizard of Oz had done for her mother Judy Garland, establishing her international reputation as a singer and actress, both helping and hindering her subsequent career. Joel Grey very nearly steals the film as the sinister but oddly alluring Master of Ceremonies in the sweaty cabaret scenes, brilliantly reprising his role from the original stage production of the musical.

In fact, in the intervening years the musical didn't die. The characters and plot lines involving Fritz, Natalia and Max were pulled from I Am a Camera and did not appear in the stage version of Cabaret or in "Sally Bowles"and a minor character named Max in the stage version, the owner of the Kit Kat Klub, bears no relation to the character in the film.

It seem a bit odd. I never understood why, they change the character name from Cliff Bradshaw to Brian Roberts. I did find his big reveal to Sally about what happen to Maximilian von Heune Helmut Griemmidway through the movie to be a great twist.

She always had that frantic, nervous, almost desperate disposition in everything Liza's in. The latter, it seems, cannot cope with the abandonment of 'realism', which means that regardless of who or where characters are, they can burst into song.

You can't help, feeling for her. During this time, Fosse highly recommended Robert L. Jean Ross was offended by the character portrayal by Liza, call it apolitical.

Taken as a generalization about a national movement, this is certainly extreme oversimplification/5. "Cabaret" has an excellent HD picture, with very accurate colors (as with the flesh tones, for example), vivid colors, and it's sharp enough, considering that it's a film and has a soft layer of grain (as it was photographed originally).
